In August last year a new young band was born with the intention to impress us with their sound. The band consists of four members; Two might be already known to some of you and if not yet they surely will within a short time.
We are talking about Robert Maisey (former vocalist of
Legion) playing Goth guitar and singer Robert Cowlin (former vocalist of
The Mumbles and
The Dark Horizon). Josh Cooper (rhythm guitar) and Katie Haley-Halinski (bass) complete this interesting young band. Their first EP "
Genesis“only comprises three songs, but they are quite impressive..

The Gifted and the Damned” is the first track on the EP. It has somethng dark and mystical about it and prepares its listeners for what will follow. Powerful drums, guitars and a dominating voice, this song merges seemlessly into the second. A successful intro for this EP.
The second song "The Night Life” is dominated by the imposing screeching guitars. The drums control the rhythm and accompany the guitars, alternately strong, then partly reluctant. The bass mostly remains in the background. What makes this song so intense, is the great and very unique dark and powerful voice of Robert Cowlin. For me personally one of the greatest voices I have heard in recent years. The sound goes straight into your ears and makes you bop along and dance.
The rhythm of the third song "Shine“ is even stronger and faster. With the guitar and bass as framework, the vocals of Robert melt into the instruments. And all that’s left to say is: We want more. But be warned…you could get addicted!
